2.3GHz Trophy Contest

This contest, together with the sister 23cm Trophy Contest, are the final two events in the VHF Championship. The frequencies involved mean that they are usually quiet events and 2019 was no exception.

There were 52 active stations (57 in 2017) and 22 squares worked (19 in 2018).  There were 21 entries (17 in 2018). Whilst this event has become slightly more popular, it may not have felt like it to those taking part - with many stations noting poor conditions and low levels of activity.

ODX in both SF and O was provided by DL0GTH in QSO's with G3XDY at 684km and M1CRO/P at 675km.

This event is partly co-ordinated with a IARU Region 1 contest and the R1 logs were obtained and were used to assist with adjudication.

• John, G3XDY, who won the Single Operator Fixed section
• Warrington Contest Group, G3CKR/P, who were runners up in the open section
• Mike, G8CUL, who was runner up in Single Operator Fixed section
• Matt, 2E0MDJ/P, who was leading Intermediate station.
• David, G4ASR, for leading station using 25w or less into a single antenna.
